From 1st to 2nd June TU Braunschweig hosted guests from ARTC and SERC, Singapore. The ARTC is a contemporary platform built upon strong public-private partnerships. In partnership with Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, ARTC has a membership consortium with over 90 members, ranging from global multinational corporations, public agencies, small and medium enterprises to startups focusing on three core industry clusters: Energy & Infrastructure, Transport & Engineering, and Consumer & Modern Services. ARTC’s expertise in advanced manufacturing and remanufacturing accelerates the transfer of innovation from applied research to industrial applications and solutions.

SERC promotes public sector research and development in the physical sciences and engineering. SERC supports world-class research in A*STAR institutes in a wide range of fields including communications, data storage, materials, chemicals, computational sciences, microelectronics, advanced manufacturing and metrology. SERC plans and actively promotes research in strategic areas to encourage greater multidisciplinary research and collaborations across industries, institutes and sectors to create the knowledge and intellectual property that will drive the development of knowledge-intensive industries.

During their stay, the delegation visited selected research centers and partners in Braunschweig. This included visits to Die Lernfabrik, the Battery Lab Factory Braunschweig, the Open Hybrid Lab Factory, and Fraunhofer IST as well as an industry visit at Volkswagen. Fruitful discussions took place, which provided insightful feedback for the research activities of the TU Braunschweig in the fields of circular battery production, flexible and urban production. Additionally, opportunities for joint research projects and researcher exchanges were identified and will be further pursued.
